Charles Babcock is of counsel in the Industrial and Consumer Product Liability Practice Group in the Philadelphia office of Lavin O’Neil Ricci Cedrone & DiSipio. He concentrates his practice on product liability litigation, consumer warnings and instructions, federal motor vehicle safety regulation and automotive safety matters.

Prior to joining the Lavin firm, he was on the legal staff at General Motors in Detroit, Michigan, for nearly 33 years. He held numerous roles during his career with GM that included attorney in charge of product liability litigation; attorney in charge of special projects on automotive safety and automotive safety regulation; and dean of the Legal and Public Policy Colleges at GM University.

Mr. Babcock graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history, with honors, from the University of Missouri where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. After his graduation, he served for three years as a Captain and Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. Babcock is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations.

He has served on the national board of the organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving and has also been its national chairman. He is a national board member of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.
